Tassels + Turquoise

I'm so excited my sweet puppy, Chloe, behaved well enough to be in some of these photos! We got her in January and she is the first dog I've ever had. I could not be more in love with her! I got this dress for my birthday from Nordstrom and I love that it's under $50. I'm heading to Cincinnati on Sunday to see Darius Rucker in concert at Riverbend and I'm so excited to wear this dress! Follow me on Instagram for updates :)

Summer Nights / Ripped Jeans

LOFT top (similar styles: 1 / 2 ) / shorts / similar sandals

I wore this outfit for my little sister's 8th birthday dinner. This top from LOFT is from two summers ago and I hadn't worn it in a while since this night. I just recently ordered these ripped denim shorts from Nordstrom and I'm in love with them. They can be worn so many ways and I definitely recommend them. I linked similar, super cute tops and sandals because both are from past summers and no longer available.  I've made some other new purchases in the past few weeks and can't wait to share them :)

My Health & Fitness Tips

I've been wanting to write this post for a long time, but have been a little hesitant to do so. I have been passionate about health and fitness for a long time and have given several presentations about healthy eating and increased physical activity in schools. The reason I have been hesitant to post about this is because I'm only seventeen, so sometimes I feel funny talking because I think to myself "Why would anyone listen to me about this? Do I even really know what I'm talking about?" However, I think that because it is something I'm so interested in and have worked so hard at for almost my entire life, I can share what I've found to work for me.

1 - Don't Beat Yourself Up: This is such a huge thing for me because I get really down on myself when I haven't exercised in a while or I have been eating really unhealthy. It's so important to keep everything in perspective. I have to remind myself every day that it's okay to have small treats and skip a day or two at the gym.

2 - Moderation: One thing I never ever do is deprive myself. I eat fast food and junk food more than I care to admit, but balancing that out with lots of fruit, vegetables, and other healthy foods is key! If I really want to eat something, I usually eat it. I allow myself 1 small treat pretty much every day.

3 - Make a Plan & Be Consistent: This is probably what works for me the most. I try to consistently eat a healthy breakfast and a healthy lunch every day and then allow myself my dinner meal to "cheat". I try to get in the gym and workout at least 4 days a week. Make a realistic plan that works for your schedule that you know you can actually stick to and write it down!!

4 - Do It With Friends: I love making plans with my friends because they all like to workout in different ways so it's a great way to mix up your workouts and try something new. I recently went to 6am spin class with my friend and LOVED it.

5 - Set Goals: Set small, realistic goals for yourself every single day that you know you'll be able to achieve and also set long term goals that you are going to work to achieve. When I feel like I'm in an unhealthy rut, I usually make it a goal to take one week to get back on track. I know the saying that it takes 21 days to make a habit, but it usually takes me about a week to get back in my routine. If you're feeling stuck, give yourself a week and I promise you'll feel better!!

6 - Drink Water: This is kind of a no brainer, but definitely so important. I try to drink 100 ounces of water every day to feel my best. Take small steps every day to increase your water intake.

I hope you found this post just a little bit helpful. Like I said before, I am in no way, shape, or form a professional or anything like that, but I have done a lot of research and health and fitness is something I am extremely passionate about. Leave me a comment if there is a post you want to see from me in the near future :)

What's On My iPhone / My Favorite Apps

I always love seeing what apps people have on their phones and how they organize them, so that's what I am sharing today! I don't organize my apps into folders, but I do have one for the apps that come with the phone that I don't really ever use. I use a lot of generic ones (like Twitter, Instagram, etc.), but here are some of my favorites:

Asana // This is a really cool to do list app that helps you organize everything you have to do and syncs to your phone and computer. During the school year, this helped keep me sooo organized. It's incredibly useful and sends you notifications before something is due to help keep you on track.

Daily Horoscope // I love reading into this daily, just for fun. I think I am definitely a true Gemini (my birthday is June 10!!). All of my friends make fun of me for this one, but I recommend checking it out.

iMovie //  My friends and I love making funny, silly videos and I just started using these to edit them to post on my Instagram. I was really surprised at how easy to use it is once you get the hang of it.

Snapchat // This is kind of a no brainer, but I am obsessed with Snapchat. I think it's hilarious and I spend more time than I care to admit drawing and doodling all over funny pictures that I send to my friends!

Tumblr // Using Tumblr on the iPhone 6 is amazing. I find myself on it so much and it's definitely my favorite social media!

Semester Highlights

The past 6 months have been crazy and because I haven't really updated in forever, I want to share what's been happening. I've learned a lot this past year and have had some really amazing experiences. Here are the highlights of my spring semester:

Community Couture Fashion Show // I walked in my second Community Couture Fashion Show that benefits our local Catholic Action Center. We got to pick our own outfits from local boutiques and it feels great knowing that we are making a difference, but also having a blast in the process.

My First Pageant // I went way out of my comfort zone and competed in a pageant for the first time in my entire life. I felt like a fish out of water in that atmosphere, but I'm so glad I had the opportunity to perform and I definitely caught "the bug". Now that I have more time on my hands, I can't wait to try my hand at the pageant world again. Not to mention, I had the best fans in the audience cheering me on!

New York City Trip // The choir program at my school took a 4 day trip to the Big Apple and it was great to get to bond and spend time with all of my close friends in such an incredible city. We got to spend time on 5th Avenue, tour Radio City Music Hall, experience the 9/11 Memorial, and see many other famous sights. I'm really hoping I get to go back soon.

Rupp Arena // Our boy's basketball team made it to the Sweet Sixteen tournament and we got to cheer a game in Rupp Arena, home of the Kentucky Wildcats. This was such a fun experience and one that I will definitely never forget. Although we lost, it was the perfect ending to such a fun season.

Now that summer is here, I have a lot more free time on my hands and am not so tied up in school, thank goodness! This is my favorite time of the year and I can't wait to share my summertime adventures on the blog!
